The effects of bad credit are at first intangible. A negative balance on a screen is a small number in a small font. A receipt is as thin and harmless as it is weightless. It's something you could crumple up. But people need to realize the devastating consequences of poor financial decisions, and to think before they swipe.

		<description>LESS SCHOOL. MORE ENTREPRENEURSHIP.

While in school, I won a venture pitch competition and started working for serial entrepreneurs in Austin, TX, immersing myself in the world of startups - the world of risk taking, inventing, innovating, problem solving, and adapting. The world that rewards fearlessness, teamwork, and most importantly, the big idea.

I learned from venture capitalists, serial entrepreneurs, ex-McKinsey consultants and Stanford MBA's. I used every tool in my ad background to help entrepreneurs launch new products, start new retail ventures from scratch, restructure old business models, or rebrand existing startups.

This honed me into the kind of idea person that doesn't come from a strict ad background. These different work and life experiences allow me to think like a creative hybrid and at the same time prevent me from being a creative clone. These experiences are what set me apart.

Here are some more of my work and projects that you wouldn't find in a traditional ad portfolio.

TWEETPORT - Digital Digest/ New Product Launch/ Startup

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/43388/1151180/tweetport home.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="406" width_o="1436" height_o="871" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/43388/1151180/tweetport home_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62;
TweetPort.net uses algorithms from Digg, Delicious, Facebook, and Twitter to synthesize only the most relevant and important tweets from your Twitter network into one daily digest in your inbox.

Social Media Consultant/ Business Strategist/ Brand Specialist/ Copywriter: Linda Yang

RISEAUSTIN.ORG - Event Conference/ Entrepreneurial Movement/ Startup

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/43388/1151180/Screen shot 2011-03-16 at 8.35.04 PM.png" border="0" width="670" height="407" width_o="1435" height_o="873" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/43388/1151180/Screen shot 2011-03-16 at 8.35.04 PM_o.png" align="left" /&#62;
While I was working for Businessweek's Most Promising Social Entrepreneurs, they launched an initiative called RISE (Relationship Information Series for Entrepreneurs). I worked in their innovation lab/ startup incubator at the time, and was promoted to Program Coordinator of RISE.

RISEaustin.org is a city-wide, SXSW style conference that happens every year, open to entrepreneurs for free. It had only just begun when I was hired, and today, is a global initiative.

Program Coordinator/ Marketing Coordinator/ Event Planner/Web Producer/Massive Networker/ Doer of all things big or small: Linda Yang

MPOWER LABS - Startup Lab/Incubator of Mpower Ventures Portfolio of Companies

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/43388/1151180/Screen shot 2011-03-16 at 8.41.55 PM.png" border="0" width="670" height="408" width_o="1431" height_o="873" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/43388/1151180/Screen shot 2011-03-16 at 8.41.55 PM_o.png" align="left" /&#62;

While I've worked at various agencies, what started my obsession with the big idea was working at an entrepreneurial startup lab/incubator.

Basically, if you take an advertising creative and put them in a startup incubator, you get an idea person on steroids. That was me.

I helped in an assistant capacity to launch four different companies from scratch, some of which have been featured in BusinessWeek, The Economist, and Fast Company.

I learned a TON. I watched entrepreneurs band together in a basement and start company after company. I fully absorbed a mentality of teamwork, risk taking, and the power of a great idea.

Most importantly,
I took all this experience and applied it to ads.

Strategy/ Branding/ Marketing/ Product Development Assistant: Linda Yang

		<description>HOW ABOUT A STORYTELLER
 THAT LIVES LIKE A STORYTELLER?

The reasons I went traveling after graduation are much the same reasons I'm in advertising — to inspire, understand bigger pictures, and tell stories with my life.
Everyday is a challenge, and an opportunity to explore culture.
Whether I'm in digital/interactive media-no-man's-land or the great city of Rome, my strengths are in problem solving in foreign environments, pushing unknown boundaries, and crafting stories.

Here's a years worth.

EUROPE

Crashing the Cannes Lions 2010.

		<description>THOMAS EDISON AND FLOW

Every artist gets lost in their work at some point. We've all done it. Csíkszentmihályi Mihály studied this phenomenon in the 60s and came up with the concept of Flow. It's what you could call "being in the zone".

To illustrate the concept, my friends and I created exactly that, a game, starring Thomas Edison whose genius contributions to society were undeniably the result of some Flow action.

Interactive Game

It's a working site! Play the game here.

		<description>TUPPERWARE

There's no other way to put it. These past few years, the economy sucked. But there are some great things that have come out of it. It's no longer acceptable to spend unwisely. It's not ok to eat out all the time, and that mentality is great.

It's the perfect opportunity for Tupperware to shed it's "Your Mother's Tupperware" brand, and to appeal to a modern, young, and sophisticated consumer that lives a healthy, financially, and socially responsible life.

Reinventing the Tupperware Party

For this campaign, traditional Tupperware parties will be reinvented to bring consumers and their communities closer together through social activism.

Tupperware parties will be celebrations of the main benefits of the product - the power of organization and "saving it", as consumers organize themselves for a project they care to save.

Social media and interactive executions will serve as effective party planning tools as well as the medium to spread the campaign message "Tupperware Saves It".
